Backrooms: Partygoers bringing survival horror to consoles and PC for Halloween

October 9, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Mascot Bro Studio has announced they will be releasing their survival horror title Backrooms: Partygoers, on PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on 29th October.  This survival horror will take players through the creepypasta Backrooms to confront the evil Partygoers.

In Backrooms: Partygoers, take the role of an Anomaly Hunter, a lone explorer sent into the mysterious Backrooms to investigate any and all strange happenings, document them with the camcorder and retrieve any valuable objectives. But beware of the hostile Partygoers that lurk the labyrinthine corridors and rooms.

Players will start their adventure in the Backrooms on Level 1, a maze of identical corridors and rooms that stretch on seemingly forever.  As players progress through the levels they will find every corner indistinguishable from the last, and a dark atmosphere that becomes almost claustrophobic.

The labyrinth of corridors and rooms is bad enough, but all the while the Partygoers stalk the player through the levels.  Their grotesque grins and party-like appearances luring their victims in with a false sense of joy before making the final deadly move.  The Partygoers don’t just chase, they enjoy the hunt, they toy with their prey and use cunning to block off exits and set traps. It will be necessary for players to employ stealth tactics, strategic planning and to always remain vigilant if they want to survive.

Backrooms: Partygoers arrives on PC and consoles on 29th October.
