Bad Boys are for life, as the action-comedy franchise is back for another round sooner than we thought.
UPI.com broke the news that the upcoming Bad Boys 4 will be released one week earlier, and is now set for June 7 this year. This new release date secures the film IMAX and PLF, which runs with a free weekend before Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 opens on June 14th.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announced that they’ll return for another installment, which marks Smith’s first major release following the now-infamous incident at the 2022 Oscars.
Filming began in Atlanta last April and lasted till July before the strikes halted production. Sony postponed the film’s release to June 14th due to that. With much of the filming completed, reports say that only some additional filming that started this past week in Florida will be needed.
Smith & Lawrence returned for 2020’s Bad Boys For Life, grossing $426.5 million worldwide, becoming the third-highest-grossing January release ever. It’s also the highest for the franchise.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah return to helm Bad Boys 4, which also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núnez, Jacob Scipio, Eric Dane, and Ioan Gruffudd.
