Oscar-nominated actor Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) has become the latest addition to the cast of the Blade Runner sequel, Entertainment Weekly has revealed.
The as-yet-untitled sequel sees Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard alongside Ryan Gosling (The Nice Guys), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Carla Juri (Morris From America), Ana de Armas (Knock Knock), Dave Bautista (Spectre), Mackenzie Davis (The Martian) and Sylvia Hoeks (Tirza).
Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) is directing the sequel, with Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher having penned the script with Michael Green (American Gods) from a story idea by Fancher and original director Ridley Scott, who also executive produces. The film is set for release on October 6th 2017.
