Deadline reports that HBO has added Patrick Fischler (American Crime Story) to the fourth season of its dark comedy series Barry.
The series follows SNL alum Bill Hader has Barry, an ex-hitman who tries leaving his murderous past behind to pursue his dream of acting, but finds his past won’t let him go easily.
Fischler will play “Lon Oneil, a man with a plan.” He will star in a major recurring role throughout the season.
Barry season four will run for eight episodes with Hader directing the entire season. The show also stars Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Michael Irby, Anthony Carrigan, and Sarah Goldberg.
Desperate to leave his violent past behind in favor of his newfound passion, Barry (Hader) is attempting to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But getting out is messy. While Barry has eliminated many of the external factors that pushed him towards violence, he soon discovers they weren’t the only forces at play. What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a killer in the first place? Season three finds Barry and the other characters trying to make the right choice.
