Ever since the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum back in 2009, rumours have surfaced every year or so claiming that developers Rocksteady Studios are looking to turn their attention from the Dark Knight to the Man of Steel for a Superman video game.
Sure enough, with The Game Awards just around the corner, speculation has been rife that Rocksteady is gearing up to make an official announcement on the Superman game. Unfortunately for fans, it seems that isn’t the case as Rocksteady co-founder Sefton Hill has revealed on Twitter that the developers won’t be making any announcements this week, and while they are hard at work on their next game, it’s not a Superman title.
Looking forward to #TheGameAwards this year! We’re still hard at work in our development bunker so don’t expect an announcement from @Rocksteadygames. When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know. Spoiler: it’s not Superman 😳

With Rocksteady finishing up their Arkham series with 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight, it remains to be seen whether the developers will be sticking with the DC Universe for their next title, but whatever it is, it sounds highly unlikely that Superman will be a part of it.
Would you like to see a Superman game from Rocksteady, or would you prefer the developer moved on from the DC universe entirely for its next offering? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
