Batman vs. Superman production to get underway as Ben Affleck pulls out of directing The Middle Man pilot

January 24, 2014 by admin

Last week brought the news that Warner Bros. has decided to push back the hotly-anticipated Man of Steel sequel Batman vs. Superman ten months to May 2016, with production also delayed from February to May. However, it seems the latter part may be inaccurate, as Deadline is reporting that Ben Affleck has been forced to pull out of directing the pilot for The Middle Man due to scheduling conflicts with Batman vs. Superman, as “the main players have been summoned to start work right away.”

In addition to Affleck, the main players for Batman vs. Superman presumably includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Lawrence Fishburne (Perry White), along with new addition Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6), who will portray Wonder Woman. But, if production is set to go ahead as planned in February, there’s a distinct lack of numbers in the cast, so perhaps we won’t have as much of a wait as we thought before Warner Bros.’ reveals who’s set to appear as the villain(s).

Batman vs. Superman is set for release on May 6th 2016 with Zack Snyder directing a script from David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio (Argo).
