THR is reporting that Fox 2000 and Chernin Entertainment have teamed up to adapt M.A. Bennett’s debut novel S.T.A.G.S., which is being described as “Battle Royale meets Get Out“.
The novel, “is set at exclusive St. Aidan the Great’s School (S.T.A.G.S.) in England and follows a first-year boarding school student named Greer, who is invited for a weekend getaway by the school’s elite and most popular group, known as the Medievals. The invite promises a weekend of bloodsports, but what Greer and the other invitees don’t know is that the Medievals just might be hunting, shooting and fishing them over the next three days.”
S.T.A.G.S. is set for publication by Hot Key Books in August of this year, with U.S. publisher Delacorte Press set to release it in the States in 2018. The movie adaptation is being overseen by Elizabeth Gabler and Marisa Paiva for Fox 2000.
