At the conclusion of last night’s series 12 finale of Doctor Who, the BBC announced that Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor will be back at the end of this year for the festive special ‘Revolution of the Daleks’, which will see the return of one of the Doctor’s most iconic – and most feared – enemies.
“We can’t leave the Doctor there! On that cliffhanger!” said showrunner Chris Chibnall. “Well, we did. But rest assured, the Doctor and her friends will be back for a one-off extended Special around Christmas and New Year. (I don’t know when they’re going to put it on yet, otherwise we’d tell you!). There will be Daleks. There will be exterminations. Thrills, laughter, tears. You know. The usual. See you at the end of the year.”
“I can’t wait for the Doctor to go into battle with the ultimate enemy in this year’s Daleks festive special,” added Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content.

In addition to the festive special, both Jodie Whittaker and Chris Chibnall have confirmed recently that they’ll be back for series 13 of the beloved sci-fi show, which will presumably arrive on BBC One at some point in 2021.
