Ben Affleck has praised his experience of playing the Batman again for the Andy Muschietti-directed The Flash movie after a “difficult” time filming Joss Whedon’s Justice League.
“It was a really nice way to revisit that as the prior experience had been difficult,” Affleck said in an interview with Variety. “This was really lovely. Really fun. I had a great time,” before cracking, “I’m probably under some gag order that I’m not even aware that I probably just violated and I’m now going to be sued.”
“I love Ezra and I had a chance to see Jason [Momoa], who’s over there making ‘Aquaman [and the Lost Kingdom],’” Affleck added.
While plot details are currently being kept under wraps at Warner Bros. and DC, we do know Christina Hodson’s screenplay will be inspired by the Flashpoint storyline with both Affleck and Michael Keaton, who played the Dark Knight in Tim Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns, returning as their respective versions of the Batman.
The Flash will see the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League co-stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, while Batman and Batman Returns’ Michael Keaton also reprises the role of The Dark Knight. DCEU newcomers include Ron Livingston (Office Space) as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu (Pan’s Labyrinth) as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl.
The Flash is set for release on November 4th, 2022.
