Deadline is reporting that Ben Affleck is teaming with Disney for an adaptation of Shannon Messenger’s bestselling fantasy book series Keeper of the Lost Cities.
The Keeper of the Lost Cities books follow Sophie, a 12-year-old girl with secret telepathic ability who she’s actually not human but is from another world that exists side-by-side with ours. Over 2.5 million copies of the books are currently in print.
Affleck is set to direct the movie adaptation and will also co-write the script with Kate Gritmon as well as producing through his Pearl Street production banner.

Affleck is coming off rave reviews for his on screen role in sports drama The Way Back, while his upcoming projects include Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, the erotic thriller Deep Water with Ana de Armas, and another Batman outing in The Flash.
