Ben Stiller is set to play all three leads in Sony Pictures Television’s adaptation of the documentary Three Identical Strangers.
According to Variety Stiller will continue his current predilection for the small-screen by stepping from behind the camera, having recently directed critically acclaimed one-two of Escape at Dannemora and Severance, to take his first leading role since 2017’s The Meyerowitz Stories.
Three Identical Strangers would focus on the true story of Bobby Shafran, David Kellman, and Eddy Galland, who were three identical triplets separated at birth only to be reunited later in life. Stiller is set to star as the three adult brothers.
Party of Five‘s Amy Lippman will write the show for Sony Pictures Television, who will produce along with SK Global and TriStar Television. Stiller will executive produce via his Red Hour Films banner.
Tim Wardle’s documentary debuted at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, where it was awarded the special jury prize for documentary storytelling. You can read our ★★★★ review of the film here.
