It looks like we may have our first piece of casting on The Predator, with Deadline reporting that Benicio Del Toro (Sicario) is in talks to join the reboot/sequel.
The Predator is being directed by Shane Black, who co-starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1987 original. Black is penning the script with Fred Dekker, his co-writer on the 80s cult classic The Monster Squad.
James Franco has previously been linked to a role in the franchise revival, while Arnold Schwarzenegger has been lobbying for a return as Dutch, and 50 Cent claimed back in April that he’ll appear in the film, although we’ve had no confirmation on that.
Del Toro has recently finished shooting Star Wars: Episode VIII, and is set to reprise his role from last year’s Sicario for the upcoming sequel Soldado.
The Predator is set for release on February 9th 2018.
