Variety is reporting that Benicio Del Toro is set to reunite with his Savages director Oliver Stone on the filmmaker’s latest project White Lies, a drama described as “an intimate exploration of family, loss, and love.”
The film, which Stone has also written, covers three generations and sees Del Toro portraying “a child of divorce now repeating his parents’ mistakes in his own marriage and with his troubled son. Feeling trapped, he embarks on a lust-filled journey to free himself, but only becomes more lost. When he meets a woman whose life is the opposite of his own, he begins a journey of rediscovery.”
Del Toro recently appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and will next be seen in the Showtime limited series Escape at Dannemora [watch the trailer here]. Stone meanwhile will be getting back behind the camera for his first film since 2016’s Snowden starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
