CinemaCon is underway, and one of the most anticipated superhero movies got a new look.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will not be released until 2027, but we got a first glimpse of Sony’s innovative animation. This release comes four years after the previous entry, Across the Spider-Verse.
Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson direct the latest sequel in the franchise, which is based on a script by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and David Callaham. Voice actors Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld are set to return for the Sony sequel.
Both films in this franchise have been commercially successful, with 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse earning over $375 million worldwide and Across the Spider-Verse earning over $500 million globally. The 2018 film that kicked off this craze also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
These new images weren’t the only teases for this third Spider-Verse film, as those in attendance were treated to a small sizzle reel of what’s to come in this long-awaited entry.
Echoing the last film, Miles declares, “Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go. I’m gonna do my own thing.” Check out the images below…
