When the March season of Hearthstone arrives it will be accompanied by a series of changes to the Ranked Play system. However, how you play in February will determine where you start in March. The game designers explain it all in a new video which can be seen below…
There are several major changes being made to the Ranked Play system this March including:
- All players will reset four ranks back – Legend players will start at Rank 4, players at Rank 15 will start at Rank 19 and so on. This will enable players at the bottom of the ladder to progress while those at the top will not have to climb through too many ranks.
- Each Rank to contain 5 stars – All players will now experience the same amount of progression.
- Instead of having to reach Rank 20 payers will just need to win five games to get their monthly card back – This will ensure that getting cards back doesn’t become too challenging and a bit of a chore.
Throughout February elements of both the old and new systems will be in place to ensure the transition runs as smoothly as possible. These include:
-
During the February Ranked Play Season reach Rank 20 to receive your seasonal card back but your rank will reset to four ranks below what you achieved during the season.
-
During the March Ranked Play Season, win 5 games to receive your seasonal card back. Your rank will reset to four ranks below what you achieved during the season.
Hopefully these changes should remove the chore that is grinding to climb that ladder whilst also improving matchmaking.
Look out for these changes coming to Hearthstone in March.
