According to THR, former U.S. President Bill Clinton and author James Patterson are meeting with Hollywood heavyweights such as J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg and George Clooney with regards to an adaptation of their upcoming novel The President Is Missing.
Plot details for the book, set for publication in June 2018, are being kept under wraps, but it promises to include “insider details that only a president can know”, with Clinton stating that: “Drawing on what I know about the job, life in the White House and the way Washington works has been a lot of fun.”
The site reports that a 10-page proposal was sent out to buyers and producers this past week, with Clinton and Patterson taking a number of meetings for what is expected to be a fiercely competitive battle over the film rights to the book.
