CBS has found one of its leads for the upcoming Training Day TV series, with Bill Paxton (Aliens, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) signing on to the small screen follow-up to Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 crime drama.
Paxton will star as “Frank Rourke, a veteran LAPD cop who heads up the Special Investigation Section (SIS), a unit that goes after the worst of the worst. He lives by the law of the jungle and believes that real courage is the will to chase the bad guys where the law won’t. Needless to say, Frank isn’t too keen to be babysitting a new trainee, Kyle Craig.”
Paxton’s co-lead remains uncast for the moment, while there have been reports that Ethan Hawke could potentially reprise the role of Jake Hoyt from the movie, reuniting him with Fuqua who is serving as exective producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and writer Will Beall.
