From Emmy-winning actor to television writer, Billy Porter is an unstoppable force in Hollywood these days. The Pose actor is currently in the final season of his award-winning series and has already landed a new gig.
Porter will head to streaming service Peacock for a new one-hour family drama called Fruits Of Thy Labor. He’ll team with Greg Berlanti and his company Berlanti Productions along with Warner Bros. The series will mark Billy Porter’s first foray into television series writing.
Written by Porter and Dan McCabe, Fruits of Thy Labor is a “family drama that follows three generations of an African-American showbiz dynasty navigating their way through life, love, politics, and career.”
Billy Porter is quite the busy talent these days. Not only is he penning the script for this series, but he will also make his feature directorial debut in Orion Pictures’ What If?. Porter is also starring as Fab G (a genderless fairy godparent) opposite Camila Cabello in Sony’s Cinderella on Amazon this fall. He also voices Audrey II in Greg Berlanti’s upcoming musical update of Little Shop of Horrors for Warner Bros. Pictures.
