The CW has released a Comic-Con sizzle reel for Black Lightning which recaps season one of the DC superhero series, as well as announcing that season two will premiere October 9th; watch the sizzle reel here…

Meanwhile, showrunner Salim Akil has also revealed that season two will be bringing the pain, with Jordan Calloway’s villain Painkiller upped to a series regular role when it returns:
“I’m thrilled to have Jordan upped as a series regular. He was a great asset to our show in the role of Khalil/Painkiller during season one, and now that he has evolved into Painkiller, I can’t wait for you all to see him in season two.”
