It’s evident that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be a unique film for the MCU, but the latest update shows how different this will feel.
The early reactions to the film were highly positive, but one surprising note was the film did not include a post-credit stinger. Since Iron Man in 2008, almost every Marvel Cinematic Universe entry featured a tease of what’s to come, but the Black Panther sequel changed things.
Speaking with the Phase Zero podcast, the film’s producer Nate Moore confirms they are skipping out on including the typical MCU end-credits scene. Given the more somber tone, the move was out of respect for the film and Chadwick Boseman.
Moore says, “Obviously, the way that this movie is a bit different, and the tone of this movie is a bit different, and it felt especially, once people see the film, we felt the ending was kind of poetic.”
He adds, “To then go back and say, ‘Hey, there’s a tag at the end credits’ felt a little disingenuous tonally from what we were doing. Much like Endgame didn’t have a tag, this didn’t feel like a movie that needed it.”
