Black Panther and Us star Winston Duke is set to voice Bruce Wayne in Batman Unburied, a new scripted podcast series produced under the partnership between DC, Warner Bros. and Spotify.
Described as a “psychological thriller”, Batman Unburied promises to take fans “on a new journey deep into the mind of Bruce Wayne introducing a slew of dark twists and turns with a number of classic Batman Super-Villains. When audiences meet Bruce Wayne he is a forensic pathologist, working in the bowels of Gotham Hospital and tasked with examining the victims of The Harvester, a gruesome serial killer preying on Gotham’s citizens. Not only will the Super-Hero be forced to face his own mental demons, but he will also have to overcome them in order to save the citizens of Gotham as his alter-ego Batman.”
The podcast is being executive produced by David S. Goyer, whose credits include The Dark Knight Trilogy and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while the writing team includes Eric Carrasco (Supergirl), Rebecca Klingel (The Haunting of Hill House), Graham Westerson (Stranger Things) and Saladin Ahmed (Miles Morales: Spider-Man).
So far, the only other announced cast member for Batman Unburied is Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, Star Trek: Discovery), who will lend his voice to Bruce Wayne’s butler and father figure Alfred Pennyworth. Further news and castings will be announced in due course.
