While his MCU introduction has hit various roadblocks in its development, Marvel’s resident vampire Daywalker and exterminator Blade is getting his own video game. Coming from developers Arkane Lyon and Bethesda, Blade was revealed at The Game Awards in an announcement trailer and will take players on a mission to Paris, France.
The synopsis reads “In Marvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead. From Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, the studio that brought you Dishonored and “DEATHLOOP”, Marvel’s Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.”
Blade will be released on the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass and PC. No release date was given so expect it to be a while before we hear more about the game.
Blade has been on of Marvel’s most popular characters even if he doesn’t always interact with the Avengers, Spider-Man or take part in Marvel’s big events. Wesley Snipes starred as the character in a trilogy of Blade films that remain very much beloved and together made over $400 million at the box office. Mahershala Ali is currently tapped to play Blade in a film for Marvel Studios, recently giving a promising update to its rocky development.
