Blood For Blood and Fire To Fire in House of the Dragon season 2 trailer and posters

December 2, 2023 by Ricky Church

HBO has revealed the first posters and trailer for the second season of House of the Dragon, promising blood for blood as Queen Rhaenyra begins the battle for her throne and vengeance for the family she has lost. Check out the posters and watch the trailer below…

Season 2 will pick up where the first season left off as the Targaryen family has split over who should rule the rule after the passing of King Viserys with Queen Rhaenyra on one side as the rightful heir Viserys chose and King Aegon, Rhaenyra’s half-brother, on the other led by the manipulations of the Queen mother Alicent Hightower and her father Otto Hightower, the Hand of the King. There was a stalemate between the two forces as they were negotiating, rallying allies and cutting off supplies, but in the final moments of the season one finale Ageon’s brother Aemond indirectly murdered Prince Luke, Rhaenyra’s second son, in a move that spells outright war in Westeros.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.

House of the Dragon features a cast that includes the returning Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno,  Rhys Ifans, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham, along with new additions Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne, Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.

House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere Summer 2024.
