It didn’t take long for Bob Odenkirk to team up again with AMC after the conclusion of Better Call Saul as the network has released the first teaser for Lucky Hank, a new dramedy which Odenkirk leads alongside Mireille Enos (The Killing). Watch it below ahead of the series’ premiere in March…
Lucky Hank follows Odenkirk as a school chairman and head of his college’s English department as he begins a mid-life crisis. The official synopsis reads:
Told in the first person by William Henry Devereaux, Jr. (Odenkirk), Lucky Hank follows the exploits of an unlikely chairman in a badly underfunded college in the Pennsylvania rust belt. It also stars Mireille Enos as Lily, William’s wife and the vice principal of the local high school. Just as Hank’s life begins to unravel, Lily also begins to question the path she’s on and the choices she’s made.
Lucky Hank also stars Oscar Nunez (The Office) as the dean of Railton College where Devereaux works, Tom Bower (El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie) as William Henry Devereaux, Sr, a retired, distinguished academic, Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) as College President Dickie Pope, and Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley) as Tom Leska, an old flame of Lily Deveraeux.
The series, which will run for eight episodes on AMC and its streaming service AMC+, was created and showrun by Aaron Zelman (Silicon Valley) and Paul Lieberstein (The Office). The pair adapted the series off Richard Russo’s novel Straight Man. Russo is also a co-showrunner on the series.
Lucky Hank will premiere on March 19th, 2023.
