Not content with being a multiple Oscar-nominated actor, Bradley Cooper is set to make his directorial debut with comedy-drama Honeymoon With Harry, in which he will also co-star alongside legendary actor Robert De Niro.
Cooper will play a former womaniser who meets the woman of his dreams and changes his life around. The couple get engaged but his new fiancé dies a few days before the wedding. De Niro will play his fiancé’s father who isn’t his biggest fan. Despite this the two end up travelling together to the honeymoon destination for very different reasons; Cooper to drown his sorrows and De Niro to spread his dead daughter’s ashes.
This will mark the fifth time Cooper and De Niro have worked together having previously both shared the screen in Limitless, Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and David O. Russell’s upcoming Joy, which is currently in pre-production.
According to Deadline Dan Fogelman (Last Vegas, Crazy Stupid Love) is currently rewriting the script that was originally drafted by Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby, Crash) over a decade ago. Cooper’s latest film American Sniper is set for a general release on January 16th and depicts the life of Chris Kyle, a Navy SEAL sniper who struggles to leave the war behind him when he returns home to his family.
