Legendary’s King Kong movie Kong: Skull Island may have lost two of its male stars earlier this month in Michael Keaton (Birdman) and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), but the project has now secured its female lead, with Deadline revealing that Brie Larson (Trainwreck) has signed on to the film.
Larson will join Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) in the cast of Skull Island, while the site is also reporting that Russell Crowe (Man of Steel) is also wanted as a replacement for either Keaton or Simmons.
Kong: Skull Island is set for release on March 10th 2017, and promises “to fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the iconic ape as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island.”
