Brie Larson is currently busy shooting Disney and Marvel’s superhero blockbuster Captain Marvel, and if a report from DisneyFilmFacts is to be believed, the Oscar winner may soon be set for a reunion with the Mouse House.
According to the outlet, Larson is wanted for the title role in the studio’s live-action Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs spinoff Rose Red.
First announced back in 2016, Rose Red would follow the title character, Snow White’s sister, who sets off with the seven dwarfs on a dangerous quest to save Snow White after she takes a bite from the poison apple.
The project was originally penned by Justin Merz (The Boxcar Children), with Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman, Tomb Raider) subsequently rewriting the script to bring in more in line with the events of the classic 1937 movie. Kristin Gore (Saturday Night Live) has also penned a recent draft.
As yet, there’s no word on a potential director or release date for Rose Red, but we’ll keep you posted.
