Pitch Perfect and The Night Agent star Brittany Snow will find herself at the centre of an intriguing family murder mystery in Hulu’s upcoming series based on the Murdaugh Murders Podcast, per Deadline.
The limited series, which is currently untitled, is based on “Maggie and Alex Murdaugh’s stranger-than-fiction family drama, a riveting account drawing from countless hours of reporting by Mandy Matney – journalist and creator of the popular Murdaugh Murders Podcast – as well as exclusive insider knowledge from years spent following the case.”
Snow will play podcast creator Mandy Matney, “a journalist with a sunny smile and a suspicious view of the world. When Mandy starts searching for a story with teeth, she stumbles upon the news of a girl missing as a result of a boat crash. Mandy uses her keen instinct to unravel the complicated layers of the Murdaugh family and ensure that the guilty party is brought to justice.”
Snow joins a cast that includes Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Alex Murdaugh, Patricia Arquette (Severance) as Maggie Murdaugh, J. Smith-Cameron (Succession) as Marian Proctor, Johnny Berchtold (Reacher) as Paul Murdaugh and Will Harrison (Daisy Jones & The Six) as Buster Murdaugh.
The series is created by Michael D. Fuller and Erin Lee Carr with Fuller serving as showrunner. Matney will executive produce alongside Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat.
Aside from her role in the Pitch Perfect trilogy and the second season of The Night Agent, Snow previously wrote and directed Parachute and will be seen next in Starz’s adaptation of The Hunting Wives.
