A second series of the mega-popular ITV drama Broadchurch will air in January 2015 according to a new teaser that was released yesterday. Olivia Colman (Hyde Park on Hudson) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) will reprise their roles as DS Ellie Miller and DI Alex Hardy – who in the first series was tasked with finding the killer of a young boy in a small, close-knit Dorset community.
Broadchurch picked up the BAFTA earlier this year for Best Drama Series with Olivia Colman and David Bradley also receiving awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor. Colman was also nominated for an International Emmy award. David Tennant had previously revisited the role for US remake Gracepoint alongside Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad) but his character was renamed Emmett Carver.
Joining Colman and Tennant this time around is Eve Myles (Torchwood), James D’Arcy (Jupiter Ascending) Charlotte Rampling (Dexter) and Marianne Jean-Baptsite (RoboCop).
