Earlier this month it was announced that Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is reuniting with Bruce Willis for a sixth entry in the Die Hard franchise, which will reportedly reinvent the action series with a 1979 prequel adventure for a young John McClane and featuring flash-forward scenes with Willis in the present day.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Rock the Kasbah, Willis has shared his excitement about the potential project, stating that: “It’s a very good idea, a really tricky idea, and I’m very happy about it. It’s a really cool idea, because it’s the origin story. It’s gonna happen at the beginning of this. We’re going to bounce back and forth.”
Asked who might star as the young McClane, Willis added: “We’re not there yet. Hopefully he’s got a hard head.”
Is a Die Hard prequel a good idea, or is it just the last roll of a dice from a franchise past its sell by date? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
