After previously directing the fourth episode of The Mandalorian’s first season, titled ‘Sanctuary’, Bryce Dallas Howard has confirmed she returned to helm a single episode for the upcoming second season.
In an interview with Collider, Howard confirmed that she did return to direct an episode for the upcoming second season of the Disney+ series while revealing her episode has already been filmed.
“I directed an episode on the second season of Mandalorian, so that’s already done. Which is wonderful, so I’m looking forward to that coming out later this year,” Howard said.
Howard continued to share her favourite types of projects to direct which also possibly reveals why she decided to direct episodes for The Mandalorian.
“In terms of directing, I really, really, really love projects that are highly collaborative, deals with some kind of emerging technology, ideally, if it’s fiction, and is also connected to IP that that already resonates with folks and audiences. And something that gives you all the feels, I hope.”
In addition to Howard, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni has revealed he also directed an episode for the second season, and directors Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel, Sin City) and Peyton Reed (Ant-Man) confirmed their involvement in directorial duties earlier this year.
