During yesterday’s Disney Investor Day, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed reports that Nia DaCosta (Candyman) is set to take on directing duties for the Brie Larson-headlined Captain Marvel 2.
In addition to Larson, who reprises her role as Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel 2 is also set to feature the return of Monica Rambeau – albeit the adult, present-day version of Monica as played by Teyonah Parris in the upcoming WandaVision TV series (the character was portrayed as a child by Akira Akbar in the 1990s-set Captain Marvel).
Parris isn’t the only of Marvel’s Disney+ cast members making the jump to the big screen either, as Iman Vellani will feature as Kamala Harris, reprising her role as the young superhero and Captain Marvel fangirl from the upcoming Ms. Marvel TV series.

Plot details for Captain Marvel 2 are being kept under wraps, but it will presumably take place on Earth, at least partially, given the inclusion of Ms. Marvel. The film is set for release on November 11th 2022.
