With Brie Larson on board as Carol Danvers, Marvel is now turning its eye to directors for 2018’s Captain Marvel movie, and it seems the studio has identified three candidates to take the reins.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Niki Caro (Whale Rider), Lesli Linka Glatter (Ray Donovan) and Lorene Scafaria (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) have emerged as front runners, and will reportedly receive a treatment from Marvel in order to deliver a detailed presentation for the project.

THR reports that there may still be other candidates in the mix, although there’s no word if that includes the previously rumoured Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), Elizabeth Wood (White Girl) and Emily Carmichael (Stryka) to the film.
Captain Marvel is set for release on March 8th 2019.
