Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, the directors of Captain Marvel, have shown their support for a new filmmaker taking over for the sequel.
Marvel has shown faith with directors in the past, letting the likes of James Gunn and Taika Waititi direct the sequels to Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok respectively, but it seems they want a new direction with Captain Marvel 2.
It has been announced that Nia DaCosta will be taking over director duties for the sequel but the filmmakers behind the first film, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, couldn’t be more supportive. Taking to social media, Boden said:
“Congratulations @NiaDaCosta!!!!!! Can’t wait to see where you take this! Anna and I are thrilled for you and wishing you the very best! Higher Further Faster! #CaptainMarvel2”

It will be interesting to see how the Candyman director gets on with the sequel and if it can match the massive commercial success of the first film. What are your thoughts? Are you excited about seeing DaCosta’s take on Captain Marvel? Let us know on our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
