Carlton Cuse has agreed to develop a new television series for NBC based on the graphic novel series The Sixth Gun. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cuse – the co-creator of Lost – and screenwriter Ryan Condal will executive produce the television series.
The Sixth Gun is billed as a supernatural western and is described as follows:
“During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. In time the Sixth Gun, the most dangerous of the weapons, vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way.“
Cuse is certainly keeping himself busy at the moment with several projects on the go including Bates Motel, the new Psycho prequel series starring Freddie Highmore (The Art of Getting By), as well as FX’s adaptation of Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain, which is a vampire horror trilogy based on a series of books written by del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
