It’s rare that there’s much to write home about when it comes to video game adaptations, but Netflix managed to avoid the curse last year with its critically acclaimed animated series Castlevania. The streaming service wasted little time in renewing the series, doing so on the very day it was released last July, and now writer Warren Ellis has confirmed on Twitter that the second season will be with us in the summer…

As Ellis states, season two of Castlevania will consist of eight episodes, as opposed to the four episodes of the first season. As yet, there’s been no information as to what we can expect story wise, although Ellis has previously said that the second season will see him “move away from the source material somewhat, stretch my legs, and probably get a little eccentric in places.
Season one of Castlevania is available to watch now on Netflix.
