Variety is reporting that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman is teaming with Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman) for Lee’s next joint, Da 5 Bloods, which also has Delroy Lindo (Malcolm X) and Jean Reno (The Promise) in talks to star.
According to Variety, Da 5 Bloods follows a group of Vietnam veterans who return to the jungle to find their lost innocence. In addition to directing, Lee will co-write the screenplay with Kevin Willmott from an original script by Danny Bilson and Paul DeMeo.
Filming on Da 5 Bloods is expected to get underway next month once Lee finishes his Oscar campaign for BlacKkKlansman, while Netflix is in talks to distribute the film.
Chadwick Boseman enjoyed a huge year in 2018 thanks to Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. He is attached to reprise his role as T’Challa in Black Panther 2, and is expected to appear in this year’s Avengers: Endgame. He’ll also be back on screen this summer in the thriller 17 Bridges.
