Netflix has set Channing Tatum to lend his voice to the United States’ first president George Washington in America: The Motion Picture, the streaming giant’s first foray into the world of feature animation.
Described as an R-rated revisionist history tale about the founding of the country, America: The Motion Picture has been scripted by Dave Callahan (The Expendables), who is producing alongside Matt Thompson and Adam Reed, the duo behind the acclaimed animated series Archer. Thompson is also attached to direct.
Tatum will next be seen in Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky and Matthew Vaughn’s spy sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. He will soon begin production on J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier, and remains attached to 20th Century Fox’s planned X-Men spinoff Gambit.
