The Old Guard 2 is written by Greg Rucka, who co-created the comic book with Leandro Fernández. The sequel will take inspiration from the second volume The Old Guard: Force Multiplied. The synopsis for the book reads:
When you’ve waged war as long as Andy and her squad, you’ve gotten your hands more than bloody. Now, the day has come to confront the sins of the past. But as Nile struggles to make peace with the team, the last person Andy expected to ever see again returns to challenge not only what Andy believes in, but what the team is willing to fight for.
Based on the comic series, The Old Guard follows a covert team of immortals who find themselves exposed and have to fight to keep their identity a secret. The first film was a huge success for Netflix, with 78 million households watching in its first four weeks on the streaming platform.
