Chella Man cast as Deathstroke’s son in DC’s Titans

March 22, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

The official Twitter account for DC Universe’s Titans has announced that model and activist Chella Man will make his acting debut in the role of Joseph Wilson, a.k.a. Jericho – the son of Deathstroke (Esai Morales).

The official character description for Jericho reads: “Mute after his father failed to rescue him from having his vocal cords severed by assassins, Jericho has the unique ability to possess anyone just by making eye contact. This gentle-natured yet proud hero has proven himself a formidable Titan.”

Man also shared his excitement over the casting, stating that: “As a trans, Deaf, Jewish POC, I have always reminded myself of the power in my differences. It’s a dream come true as I will now be able to showcase this power on the Titans.”

In the comics, the character has always used sign language, as his vocal cords severed by assassins.

Jericho’s mysterious powers are activated by his gaze — if he locks eyes with people he can control their bodies.

The first season of Titans is available to watch now on DC Universe, and features a cast that includes Brenton Thwaites (Robin), Anna Diop (Starfire), Ryan Potter (Beast Boy) and Teagan Croft (Raven).
