Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone gets first gameplay trailer

October 2, 2024 by Andrew Newton

The Farm 51 has unveiled the first gameplay footage for their upcoming post-apocalyptic action RPG, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone, in a brand-new trailer.  The new trailer (see below) showcases some of the locations and horrors that players will see in this radiated wasteland when the game releases on PC and consoles next year.

Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone takes players to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Chernobyl and plants them in the shoes of a Planewalker, a person capable of travelling through parallel worlds.  Planewalkers travel these worlds in search of the precious, high-energy material called Chernobylite and now one particular Planewalker has become trapped in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.  By day, the overgrown ruins of civilisation are exciting and intriguing, but by night the horrors awaken and the player will have to survive.

Players will have a huge and realistic open world to explore and those who do will find that Chernobylite has taken over the zone. With its strange ability to transform its environment, or objects within it, it poses a threat to all those within the exclusion zone and players will meet others using prototype technologies to defend themselves against it.  Players will be able to work alongside other factions and fight against the hordes of Chernobylite monsters or even take up arms against them.

Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone features a diverse combat system that caters for a large arsenal of firearms as well as melee combat.  Players will be able to choose from a variety of playstyles and will be able to switch from a stealthy sniper to a heavy melee build by Planewalking.  This feature will allow players the freedom to develop more than one character skill set.

Players will be able to develop a base for themselves in the zone and use this relatively safe haven to create valuable items and upgrade weaponry.  It will also be possible to assign people to different tasks so that they can take care of the weapons and supplies.

Look out for Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2025.  Steam gamers can Wishlist the game now.
