With his time as the Star-Spangled Avengers most likely over, Avengers: Endgame‘s Chris Evans is looking for new projects to film and Deadline brings word that he has entered talks with Paramount to join Infinite, a sci-fi thriller from Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer 2) which is based on D. Eric Maikranz’s novel The Reincarnationist Papers.
The novel follows Evan Michaels, a man who was haunted by memories of two past lives and stumbles upon a centuries-old secret society of similar individuals who make up the Cognomina, a secret society of people who possess total recall of their past lives and whose members have been agents of change throughout history. He seeks to join their ranks.
Paramount is putting Infinite on the production fast-track. The screenplay has been written by John Lee Hancock and Ian Shorr with Hancock completing the most recent revisions. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian and John Zaozirny will produce through the Paramount-based Di Bonaventura Pictures with Rafi Crohn as an executive producer.
Evans is also set to star in Rian Johnson’s (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) murder mystery Knives Out alongside an A-list ensemble cast that includes Daniel Craig, Michael Shannon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ana de Armas and Lakeith Stanfield among others.
