Chris Evans is no stranger to returning to roles. The actor was confirmed for a new Scott Pilgrim series this past week, but there’s one thing he isn’t ready for, and that’s more Captain America.
At a recent appearance during Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) last weekend, Evans was obviously asked about his time as Steve Rodgers, AKA Captain America, and outlet PopVerse asked the big question if Evan would return.
The actor says, “God, it’s tough. Look, I love that role deeply. It means so much to me. Do I think there are more Steve Rogers stories to tell? Sure, but at the same time, I’m very, very precious about it. I was part of something special for a very special period of time.” When pressed on if he’d return to the character, Evans stressed that it “doesn’t quite feel right, right now.”
PopVerse asked what film remakes he would love to star in, noting surprising answers. Evan tells the outlet he’d love to star in Clue or Little Shop of Horrors remakes. Evan has been long rumored to star in Little Shop of Horrors as Orin Scrivello, DDS, but there’s been no confirmation.
The actor will next appear in Evans will star in the action-adventure film Ghosted, from director Dexter Fletcher, and he’s also attached to action comedy Red One.
The next Captain America film, Captain America: New World Order, is filming and will continue to follow Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson’s journey as the new Captain America. Also featuring in the cast of New World Order are Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon), Carl Lumbly (Isaiah Bradley), Liv Tyler (Betty Ross), Harrison Ford (Thunderbolt Ross), Tim Blake Nelson (The Leader) and Shira Haas (Sabra).
