We’ve known for a while now that the long-awaited team-up between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy will take place in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, but don’t expect the A-holes to be taking centre stage, as Chris Pratt has revealed that Star-Lord and company will be supporting players.
“We definitely will have a strong presence, but we are playing supporting cast – you know what I mean?” Pratt told Nerdist during a promotional interview for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. “We’re there to help them tell an awesome Infinity War story. But Guardians is cosmic. It is its own special off-shoot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
While the news may be a little disappointing to Guardians fans, the team will presumably take on a much more prominent role following Infinity War, with Kevin Feige stating that the next Phase will see an increased emphasis on the cosmic side of the MCU.
