Earlier today, we brought you the news that Woody Harrelson is the front-runner for the role of Han Solo’s mentor in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie, and now there is word that Christian Bale was also considered for the part.
Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter tweeted “True that Disney & Lucasfilm wanted someone big for HAN SOLO…before Woody Harrelson, CHRISTIAN BALE was the other big name in the mix.”

The untitled Han Solo film sees Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) directing a cast that includes the aforementioned Alden Ehrenreich as the titular smuggler, Donald Glover (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clark (Game of Thrones) in as-yet-unrevealed role. It is currently slated for release on May 25th 2018, although rumours are suggesting it will be pushed back to December 2018.
