Christina Hendricks is set to the star in the upcoming NBC drama Good Girls.
Her role was originally filled by Kathleen Rose Perkins but has since been recast, and the former Mad Man star has now come on board with the pilot to be reshot this fall. The series will debut midseason.
Described as a comedy/drama mixing elements of Breaking Bad and Thelma & Louise, Good Girls tells the story of three suburban moms – Hendricks, Mae Whitman and Retta – who decide to rob a local supermarket with toy guns to make ends meet. But after the store manager gets a glimpse of them, and with more loot than they were expecting, the friends realise that their getaway won’t be as easy as first thought.
The series will also star Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard and Matthew Lillard.
Good Girls has been created by Jenna Bans who will also serve as executive producer alongside Jeannine Renshaw and Dean Parisot. Parisot will direct the pilot with Universal Television as the studio.
