According to Deadline, Dane DeHaan is the latest addition to the cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming biopic Oppenheimer in a currently undisclosed role.
DeHaan is set to join a stacked cast that includes Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place Part II), Matt Damon (Stillwater), Robert Downey Jr. (Avengers: Endgame), Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Rami Malek (No Time to Die) and Benny Safdie (Licorice Pizza).
DeHaan will next appear in the HBO Max series The Staircase, having recently starred in the Apple series Lisey’s Story based on the novel by Stephen King. The actor has also featured in films including A Cure for Wellness, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Lincoln, Chronicle.
Oppenheimer is based upon American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer and charts the development of the atomic bomb in World War II, with Murphy starring as Oppenheimer. The official logline reads:
“The IMAX-shot epic thriller thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it.”
Oppenheimer is currently set for release on July 21st, 2023.
