Fresh from the biggest box office success of his career with American Sniper, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Clint Eastwood has lined up another real-life tale for his next feature, with the director set to tackle the story of Captain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger.
A veteran pilot, Sullenberger became a hero in 2009 after landing U.S. Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after engine failure, saving the lives of everyone on board in what came to be known as the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’.
“I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall,” said Sullenberger. “The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team.”
Todd Komarnicki is set to write the script for the film, which will be based upon Sullenberger’s memoir Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters.
