Clint Eastwood’s latest stint on both sides of the camera, Cry Macho, will now ride into cinemas and onto HBO Max on October 22nd.
Based on N. Richard Nash’s 1975 novel of the same name, Cry Macho tells the story of a former rodeo star and washed-up horse breeder who takes a job from an ex-boss to bring the man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mom. Crossing rural Mexico on their back way to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman may find his own sense of redemption through teaching the boy what it means to be a good man.
Cry Macho also stars Dwight Yoakam (Logan Lucky), Fernanda Urrejola (Narcos: Mexico), and Eduardo Minnet.
As with all of Warner Bros. 2021 slate, Eastwood’s film will release simultaneously on HBO Max and in theatres, where it will face competition from Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho and Paramount’s G.I. Joe spin-off Snake Eyes.
