Deadline is reporting that Nicholas Stoller’s (Neighbors) upcoming Netflix comedy series Friends from College has secured its cast, with Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) and Fred Savage (The Wonder Years) set to appear alongside Annie Parisse (Vinyl), Nat Faxon (Married) and Jae Sug Park (The Mindy Project).
Friends from College “centers on a group of friends who went to Harvard together and are now facing down their forties and experiencing a range of success, or lack thereof, both professionally and domestically. With interwoven and oftentimes complicated relationships with one another, the series is a comedic exploration of old friendships, former romantic entanglements and balancing adult life with nostalgia for the past.”
“Nick is a comedic mastermind,” said Netflix VP of Original Content Cindy Holland. “With Friends from College, he and Francesca Delblanco have created a world that is both moving and very, very funny.”
Stoller’s previous films include Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, while his next effort is the animated comedy adventure Storks, which opens next month.
